Run, Core

25 January

Run: 9.5 mi
Core: 10 min
------------------------------------------------------
Run--I don't know about you guys, but it is really hard to trick your mind to run when it's freezing outside. What do you do to pump yourself up to run in cold weather? I decided to run 4 min hard/1 min easy until I reached 3 miles, then run easy on the way back home. That way I don't have any mile splits but I do have a total time for the 3 miles. It was a good way to learn how to run by effort. It was snowing like CRAZY on the way home; my gloves, hat, shirt, and tights had a layer of ice on them. Brrrr!

Life Stuff--Last night I went to bed earlier, but of course I was really upset. A really nice friend talked to me on the phone until 1:00AM, and she really helped me. My rabbi found out about my friend in Iraq and sent me a really nice message. I live in a really great community. Now it's time to give back and do something really nice for my friend's family.

Core--10 x 1 min intervals of each exercise. I did two rounds of hip flexors, push-ups, back lifts, obliques, and lower abs. This exercise ball still rules.

Splits
1.8 WU, 16:12
3 mi intervals, 20:26 (6:48 pace)
6.5-6.0, 4:38
6.0-5.5, 4:24
5.5-5.0, 4:28
5.0-4.5, 4:33
4.5-4.0, 4:41
4.0-3.5, 4:24
3.5-home (1.7 mi), 13:24
Total time 1:17:13, total pace 8:07
